Partnerships and Fundraising Lead

Josphat Ekuam is a distinguished social entrepreneur, animal welfare advocate, and livestock development practitioner with a profound focus on Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science from Egerton University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Animal Science, specialising in livestock value chain development within pastoral systems. Josphat’s professional background is rooted in strengthening community resilience and livelihoods across climate-vulnerable regions, including Turkana, West Pokot, Baringo, Wajir, and Isiolo. He has extensive experience in drought preparedness and emergency response, guided by global humanitarian standards.

His technical expertise has been instrumental in developing fundable resilience projects that bridge animal health services with sustainable pastoral livelihoods. In his role as Partnerships and Fundraising Lead, Josphat leverages his deep grassroots intelligence and experience with county governments, civil society, and international enablers to drive the Collaborative Approach's financial engine. He is responsible for strategic resource mobilisation, donor mapping, and the development of high-impact proposals that secure unrestricted and project-based funding. His work is central to orchestrating responsible conferencing and multi-stakeholder partnerships that amplify the voices of marginalised youth across Africa.
