As founder of Collaborative Approach, Harun leads its strategy, social enterprise, and systems design. Collaborative Approach connects a national and regional community of more than 200 young founders from historically marginalised regions of Kenya and across East Africa. Through members’ programmes and peer-led work, the community has an estimated indirect reach of more than 200,000 young people (as of 2026). Its work strengthens the relationships, skills, and systems that help community-rooted founders and their ventures grow.
Changemakers Hike and Adventure, the Network of Grassroots Organisations and Movements, and the East Africa Youth Consultation Forum began as independent initiatives and now operate as complementary parts of one ecosystem. Together, they create opportunities for peer learning, network building, nature-based leadership, well-being, and collaboration across a fragmented youth-development sector.
For more than 10 years, Harun has worked across youth leadership, systems thinking, and inclusive development. He brings organisations, networks, and changemakers together at local, national, regional, and global levels to co-create solutions and address structural barriers. His work includes designing and facilitating virtual and in-person engagements and building trust-based spaces where grassroots founders can learn, gain visibility, access dignified opportunities, and influence change. Through consulting and professional services, he supports founders with organisational design, governance and operating systems, regulatory setup, strategy development, and resource mobilisation in Kenya’s social innovation, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors.
